As a primary school student in Suva, I distinctly remember a Vampire Jet flying over Suva Grammar School. It could have very well been this one, now on display in the Nowra Museum. From memory, it actually broke the sound barrier over Suva. Anyone remember that? WS.
Most people from Fiji do not know that Fiji had a fighter ace during World War One. He was a lad from Suva named Joske and he flew this plane - the Sopwith. This is also the aircraft the people from Rewa raised funds for and donated to the British war effort when WW1 was raging. Any history experts who spot an error, please advise. Photo taken at Nowra Fleet Air Arm Museum.
